I was very saddened to read of the passing of Cassandra Wilson.

Her voice was a wonder of tone and the deepest feeling. Her singing could embrace songs by Son House, Kurt Weill, Cyndi Lauper, Tom Jobim or Van Morrison with the same beauty and curiosity.
