サンタナとドゥービー・ブラザーズのサマー・ツアーがスタート
ドゥービー・ブラザーズがオープニングを務めるサンタナのサマー・ツアー〈Supernatural Now Tour〉（1月17日MLCニュース参照）が6月22日に幕を開け、両バンドのセットリストとファンが撮影したドゥービー・ブラザーズ「Black Water」のパフォーマンス映像が公開されています。
サンタナはアンコール4曲を含めた全19曲を披露し、中盤の「Voodoo Child」では、マッチボックス・トウェンティ（Matchbox Twenty）のロブ・トーマスがゲスト参加しました。
その後トーマスは、アンコールでステージに再登場し、1999年に大ヒットしたサンタナとのコラボ曲「Smooth」と、チェンバース・ブラザーズのカヴァー「Love, Peace and Happiness」でもパフォーマンスを披露しています。
またサンタナのセットリストには2曲の新曲が含まれ、1月25日にリリースしたEP『In Search of Mona Lisa』（1月7日MLCニュース参照）のタイトル曲と、6月7日発売の最新アルバム『Africa Speaks』から「Breaking Down the Door」を披露しました。
一方、全14曲を披露したドゥービー・ブラザーズのセットリストには、1973年発表のサード・アルバム『The Captain and Me』から6曲が入り、「Takin’ It to the Streets」を除き、マイケル・マクドナルド加入前の楽曲で構成されていました。
なおこのツアーは、8月25日のニューヨーク州ワントー公演まで続きます。
