インコグニート、カヴァー曲「You Are In My System」の新MV公開

英アシッド・ジャズ・バンドのインコグニートが、11月19日発売の8CDボックスセット『Always There 1981-2021 : 40 Years & Still Groovin’』から、「You Are In My System」の新たなミュージック・ビデオを公開しました。

このボックスセットは、1981年のデビュー・アルバム『Jazz Funk』の40周年を記念して発売され、「You Are In My System」は、米シンセ・ポップ・デュオ、ザ・システムが1982年に発表したヒット曲のカヴァーです。

ボックスセットのCD1〜5は、バンドリーダーのジャン・ポール・“ブルーイ”・モーニックがキュレーションを手掛け、グレイテスト・ヒッツ集、リミックス、未発表音源を収録。CD6には、1997年に日本限定で発売された1996年東京公演のライヴ・アルバムがフィーチャーされ、CD7&８には、独自レーベル “トーキン・ラウド（Talkin’ Loud）” からバンドのアルバム7枚をリリースしたアシッド・ジャズのキーパーソン、ジャイルス・ピーターソンが編集したリミックス音源が収録されています。

また、ボックスセットには52ページのブックレットが付き、音楽ジャーナリストのチャールズ・ウェアリングがブルーイとのインタヴューを基に綴った1万語のエッセイやライナーノーツ、ブルーイが個人のアーカイヴから提供したバンドの写真が掲載されています。

1979年にブルーイとポール・“タブズ”・ウィリアムズが結成したインコグニートは、ファンカデリックやアース・ウィンド＆ファイアをはじめとする米ファンク・グループからインスパイアされたバンドで、ファンクとソウル、ラテン音楽を融合させたサウンドがブリット・ファンクの第一波に乗りました。デビュー・アルバム『Jazz Funk』からカットしたファースト・シングル「Parisienne Girl」が1981年のUKチャートで大成功をおさめ、その後バンドは長い停滞期に入りましたが、90年代にジャイルス・ピーターソンのレーベル、トーキン・ラウドに移籍してから見事に復活を遂げました。
