スパークス、新たなベスト盤と『Gratuitous Sax & Senseless Violins』のニュー・エディション発売

1970年に結成された米ロック／ポップ・バンド、スパークスの新たなベスト盤『Past Tense : The Best of Sparks』が11月8日にBMGからリリースされ、1994年のアルバム『Gratuitous Sax & Senseless Violins』が11月15日にリイシューされることになりました。

新たなベスト盤『Past Tense : The Best of Sparks』は、58曲入りの3枚組CD、39曲入りの2枚組CD、27曲入りの3枚組LPでリリースされ、メンバーのロン・メイルとラッセル・メイルが選曲しています。

1994年発売のアルバム『Gratuitous Sax & Senseless Violins（邦題：官能の饗宴）』は、3枚組CDのエクスパンディッド・エディションとしてリイシューされ、CD１にはリマスターされたオリジナル・アルバムを収録、CD２にはB面曲やリミックス、ライヴ音源、CD３には未発表デモ12曲と、パーカッショニストだったクリスティ・ヘイドンがヴォーカルを担当した未発表曲が収録されており、クリスティは、メイル兄弟と共にアルバムのライナーノーツも執筆しています。

また、このアルバムはシングルLPでも発売されるほか、イエロー・ヴァイナル＋2枚組CDでも発売され、LPにはリマスターされたアルバムが、2枚組CDには上記のCD2とCD３の内容が収録されています。
