フェイセズ、新ボックスセット『Faces At The BBC』9月発売

フェイセズ70年代前半のBBCレコーディングを網羅した新ボックスセット『Faces At The BBC – Complete BBC Concert & Session Recordings 1970-1973』が、9月6日に発売されることになりました。

8CD＋1Blu-rayのボックスセットには、バンドの現存するBBCレコーディングが80曲以上収録され、その大半が未発表音源です。

バンドが発表した全4枚のスタジオ・アルバム『First Step』（1970年）、『Long Player』（1971年）、『A Nod Is As Good As A Wink...To A Blind Horse』（邦題『馬の耳に念仏』1971年）、『Ooh La La』（1973年）の収録曲や、ロッド・スチュワートが大半のバンド・メンバーと録音したソロ・アルバム『Gasoline Alley』『Every Picture Tells A Story』『Never A Dull Moment』『Smiler』の曲が含まれており、現メンバーのロッド・スチュワート、ロニー・ウッド、ケニー・ジョーンズの参加を得てリマスターされました。

Blu-rayには、1972年4月1日に出演したBBC・TVシリーズ『Sounds for Saturday』のレストア版映像が収録され、同作から1971年のヒット曲「Stay With Me」のパフォーマンス映像が公開されています。

また、ボックスセットには48ページのブックレットが付き、現メンバーによる新たな解説や、他界したロニー・レイン（1997年没）とイアン・マクレガン（2014年没）、BBCの伝説的DJジョン・ピールらのアーカイヴから引用した文章に加え、多数の未公開写真がフィーチャーされ、フェイセズのBBCセッション、コンサート、放送の全てが詳しく掲載されています。

なお、ライナーノーツはBBCのブロードキャスター、ゲイリー・クロウリーが執筆し、フェイセズの全BBCコンサートをプロデュースしたジェフ・グリフィンの新たなインタヴューが含まれています。
