キース・エマーソンのキャリアを網羅した20CDボックスセット、10月発売
キース・エマーソンのキャリアを網羅した20枚組CDのボックスセット『Variations』が、10月13日に発売されることになりました。トレーラーが公開されています。
このボックスセットには、エマーソンが初めて商業的成功を収めた60年代後半のバンド、ザ・ナイス（The Nice）や、1970年に創設したエマーソン、レイク＆パーマーの曲のみならず、英R&BバンドのTボーンズw/クリス・バーバーらと収録した初期のレア曲、エマーソンの全ソロ・アルバム、サウンドトラック、指揮者のテリエ・ミケルセンとコラボした2012年のアルバム『スリー・フェイツ・プロジェクト』（Three Fates Project）、NYの「B.B.キング・ブルース・クラブ」で行なったソロ・ライヴの音源なども含まれています。

このコレクションは、エマーソンの家族から全面的な協力を得てキュレーションされており、キースの息子アーロン・エマーソンは、次のようにコメントしています。

英国プログレッシヴ・ロックのスーパーグループ、EL&Pが27年振り、4度目の来日公演を12月に東京で開催！故キース・エマーソン、グレッグ・レイクと、カール・パーマーが結成50周年の時を超えてステージで奇跡の共演！
【公演内容】
キーボードのキース・エマーソンと、ヴォーカル＆ベースのグレッグ・レイクは2016年に逝去。現存メンバーはドラムのカール・パーマーひとりとなった今回のステージでは、3面の巨大なLEDスクリーンを使い1992年のロイヤル・アルバートホールでのキース・エマーソンとグレッグ・レイクと、現在のカール・パーマーが映し出され、カールの実演との時空を超えたEL&Pの共演が実現する。このデジタル＆フィジカルが融合した画期的なツアー「WELCOME BACK MY FRIENDS “THE RETURN OF EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER”」は2022年11月から北米でスタート。2023年秋に始まる今年二度目の北米ツアーを経て、12月にいよいよ日本にやって来る。昨秋の全米ツアーでは、主に1stアルバム『エマーソン、レイク＆パーマー』収録の「ラッキー・マン」「ナイフ・エッジ」、2ndアルバム『タルカス』収録の「タルカス」、『トリロジー／1972』収録の「フロム・ザ・ビギニング」、『ブラック・ムーン』収録の「ペーパー・ブラッド」等が演奏された。本ツアーでは「悪の教典#9 第1印象（『恐怖の頭脳改革』から）」や『展覧会の絵』の中からの楽曲の演奏も予定されている。ファン必見の最後の日本公演となることは必至だ。
