R.E.M.、2018年のBBCセッションボックスセットが再発に

コンコード・ミュージックが今年3月、R.E.M.が2018年にリリースしたボックス・セット『At The BBC』を再発することになりました。CD8枚組プラスDVDというパッケージには、BBCとバンドのアーカイヴから選りすぐられた、レアな未発表＆ライヴ音源のお宝コレクションが詰まっています。

本ボックス・セットには『ジョン・ピール・セッション』（1998年）及び『Drivetime』と『Mark and Land』出演時（2008年）、更にレディオ１の『Live Lounge』におけるスタジオ・ライヴが収められています。ライヴ中継ではノッティンガム・フォレストのロック・シティ（1984年）、1995年のミルトン・キーンズでの『モンスター・ツアー』、1999年のグラストンベリーにヘッドライナーで出演した時のセット、そして2004年にロンドンのセント・ジェームズ・チャーチで、招待客のみを相手に行なったライヴの模様が収められました。こうした音源のCDが合計8枚入っています。

DVD の方には、60分間のドキュメンタリー番組『Accelerating Backwards』（英国内ではTV放映されましたが、商品として入手可能になったのはこれが初めて）と、1998年に『Later... With Jools Holland』でバンドの特集が組まれた回の完全版、そして『トップ・オブ・ザ・ポップス』その他に出演時の映像が収められています。

ボックスのパッケージの見た目はオリジナル版と全く同じですが、2018年のリリース時に一緒に出た『The Best Of R.E.M. at the BBC』のハイライトのみで構成された2枚組CDと2枚組LPについては、再発されないようです。

『R.E.M. at the BBC』はコンコードから、2025年3月6日にリリースされます。
