ビリー・ジョエル、11月発売の９LPボックスセットから「New York State of Mind」と「Everybody Loves You Now」の未発表ライヴ音源公開

9月8日のMLCニュースでお伝えしたように、ビリー・ジョエルのレコーディング・キャリア50周年を記念した9LPボックスセット『The Viny Collection, Vol. 1』が11月5日に発売されます。

このボックスセットには、1971年のデビュー・アルバム『Cold Spring Harbor』（邦題『ピアノの詩人』）、1973年の『Piano Man』、1974年の『Streetlife Serenade』、1976年の『Turnstiles』（邦題『ニューヨーク物語』）」、1977年の『The Stranger』、1978年の『52nd Street』（邦題『ニューヨーク52番街』）の6タイトルに加え、1981年の初ライヴ・アルバム『Songs in the Attic』と、1975年の未発表ライヴ・アルバム『Live at The Great American Music Hall – 1975』（2LP）が収められており、後者の未発表ライヴ・アルバムから、「New York State of Mind」と「Everybody Loves You Now」が公開されました。

またボックスセットには、50ページを超えるブックレットが付き、ジョエルの楽曲とアルバムに関する彼の個人的意見を通じた初期のキャリアが綴られているほか、アーカイヴ写真、音楽ジャーナリストのアンソニー・デカーティスによるエッセイ、仲間のミュージシャンやアーティストからの賛辞が掲載されています。
