ポール・マッカートニー、グラストンベリー・フェスのステージにデイヴ・グロールとスプリングスティーンがゲスト出演

ポール・マッカートニーが６月25日、英グラストンベリー・フェスティバルでヘッドライナーを務め、フー・ファイターズのデイヴ・グロールとブルース・スプリングスティーンがサプライズ・ゲストで出演しました。デイヴ・グロールがステージに登場したのは、3月にテイラー・ホーキンズが他界して以来のことでした。

ポールは26曲目の「Get Back」を終えたところで、「ちょっとしたサプライズがあるよ。アメリカ西海岸から皆さんのヒーロー、デイヴ・グロール！」と紹介し、二人は「I Saw Her Standing There」と「Band on the Run」を共演しました。

続いてグロールがステージを去った後、ポールは「サプライズがもう一つ。こちらはアメリカ東海岸から」と、ブルース・スプリングスティーンを紹介。二人は、6月16日にポールのニュージャージー公演で共演した時と同様（6月20日MLCニュース）、「Glory Days」と「I Wanna Be Your Man」を一緒に演奏しました。

その後グロールとボスは、アンコール最後の曲「The End」でステージに戻り、3時間に及んだポールのライヴを一緒に締めくくりました。

またポールはこの日、アンコール1曲目の「I’ve Got a Feeling」で、再びジョン・レノンの映像とヴァーチャル・デュエットを披露しています。

なお、フェス前日の6月24日、ポールはフロームという町にある800人収容のクラブ「チーズ＆グレイン（Cheese and Grain）」で、サプライズのウォーミング・アップ・ギグを行ないました。

このギグは、前日の夜に突然告知されたものの、1枚25ポンドのチケットは数分で完売し、観客の中にはジョージ・ハリスンの妻オリヴィアや、AC/DCのブライアン・ジョンソン、米・女優／歌手のオリヴィア・ロドリゴらの姿もあったそうです。
